Druminar is designed to teach both managers and employees the value of highly functioning teams, resulting in increased levels of employee/team engagement and business performance. Musical and percussive concepts, along with interactive exercises, help participants identify and replicate experiences of highly engaged teams in the workplace.
Our formal offerings combine enough structure to accomplish distinct objectives, yet are flexible enough to allow you to decide:
- The size of your group
- The amount of time spent on each segment–one hour, three hours, full day, or multi-day programs
- Which topics receive the most emphasis
- Where your sessions will take place–all sessions can be conducted at the world-renowned Kleinhans Music Hall in Buffalo, NY, or at the location of your choice–we’ll come to you!
A typical session consists of:
Drum Circle Workshops
Drum Circle Workshops are the cornerstone of all Druminar™ training programs and consist of team-building drum exercises led by Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra principal percussionist, Mark Hodges. Each participant is provided drums and unique percussion instruments. No prior musical experience is required to participate!
Orchestrating Success
These leadership seminars are facilitated by our professional conducting staff. Orchestrating Success will focus on developing leadership skills for the corporate environment. Your team will see examples of full conductor’s scores and learn the basics of various beat patterns used by conductors. Our maestro will then demonstrate the significance and importance of clarity, expressiveness, preparation, and confidence needed to be a successful leader and manager.
This seminar combines:
- A brief introduction of the role, function, responsibility, and technical expertise of an orchestra conductor
- Correlating the conducting of an orchestra with leading a team in a corporate environment
- Hands-on, interactive exercises including several of the participants conducting the group in drum circles.
Group Breakouts
Your team will utilize their newly developed skills to create and perform their own compositions with exciting percussion instruments! No prior musical experience is required to participate!

Druminar provides a different approach to the team or group philosophy. Similar to a symphony or orchestra, employees in any corporate team setting have to work effectively together to achieve a common goal. Mark, Jamie, and Paul do a wonderful job using the basic principles of music to illustrate how important it is to utilize every member of the group in order to achieve office or department goals. This seminar gives employees the chance to try something new, outside of their comfort zone, as well as giving the group the opportunity to identify strengths within the team dynamic that may not have come to the surface otherwise.
